It turned out that there was a problem with a water leak in the room we’d been allocated so Abhijeet sorted us with a different room. Amenities etc: There was a good size swimming pool and also a rock pool with a swimming pool type ladder. As others have said you do need swim shoes for this, take a mask and snorkel - the fish and coral are amazing.
We used the gym twice, it wasn’t too bad for a hotel gym although a few of the machines were broken .
If you like to read, there is a bookcase in the room next to reception where you can swap books.
A highlight of our trip was going on the boat with Jeremy (from the boathouse next to the hotel) to see the Dolphins in their natural habitat. We were able to snorkel from the boat and see them swimming past.
Most evenings there was music and a few nights there was a Sega dance show.

Anelia Resort is at the end of Flic en Flac beach - it’s a lovely walk along the beach and you can also walk via the road where there are a few shops. If you like shopping you can catch the bus to Cascavalle shopping centre which isn’t far and only costs about 30rs each way.

We hired a car for a few days so that we could explore other parts of the island. If you are visiting from UK it’s the same as driving at home as they drive on the left.

On the day of our departure we had to check out by 11am but were not being picked up until 6pm. We were able to use the hotel’s facilities until we left and a room was provided about an hour before we were picked up so that we could have a shower before leaving. Abhijeet came to say goodbye and wished us a safe journey home. We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. More

It is very authentic Mauritian / Indian so may not be to everybody’s taste although there was always pasta and pizza and on some nights Chinese food. Breakfast was excellent and we ate lunch at the Burger bar on three occasions and had good food and excellent service. Flies are abundant during the day and are a bit of a nuisance but the hotel does everything possible to keep food covered. Interestingly the flies disappear in the evening so dinner is not a problem.
