Dinners and breakfasts are a treat, with a huge selection to choose from as you dine overlooking the ocean.
All staff, from the duty managers, to the waiters, to the garderners greet you with a smile no matter what time of day.
Rooms are super clean and spacious, great facilities. Particular shout out to Talha behind the front desk who went above and beyond for us ensuring our short stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible!

We enjoyed the food very much , there were a lot of curry which I don’t eat but there was always plenty of alternative foods to eat .. lunch was normally served on the beach .. the grounds were well kept and manicured ..
The beach and cocktails weren’t great , but apart from that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend ..
Emmanuel gave excellent customer service , always asked our our day went and he always remembered which drinks we liked with our meals ..

Reno needed
Baseboard incompletely installed and finished. Looks tacky.
Vanity siding, as with other areas, need a coat of varnish/paint.
Patio door latch was broken and cannot be locked.
Room walls are not tastefully finished.
House Keeping
Drape is dirty and partly off hook (this was later rectified).
Floor is tiled. It is occasionally wet and dry mopped but never vacuumed.
In fact, I do not think house keeping has a vacuum.
I think I am a very clean person, somehow, the floor in the room gets quite dirty. For the ~18 nights I stayed here (2 more nights to go) my room has only been wet mopped once.
I have so far seen in the room 4 cockroaches, a spider, two large ants and numerous small ants.
I do not know the responsibility of cleaning of the corridors falls on whom. They were seldom cleaned. There was a stray cat around and at one point during my stay, cat feces was left on the corridor floor for two days only to be cleaned when I complained to the manager.
General
Staffs are friendly and hard working. Some speak Creole more fluently than English.
Swimming pool water seems clean but does not seem well chlorinated. Pool was was not heated - feels cold to me.
Pool towels are accessible from poolside cabana but it closes early at 4:00 pm. Sunset close to 6:00 pm this time of the year.
American breakfast is adequate. Stated serving time supposedly 7:30 am to 10:00 am but food choice is not adequately stocked until realistically 8:00 am. Provided food is adequate in buffet style. However, it is unpleasant to eat with pesky birds and flies which are not too few in numbers.
This hotel has a large compound and barely adequately lit in the evening. The compound contains several buildings housing the guests. In the evening, during my early days of staying here, I found the hotel compound confusing and I did not find it easy to locate my room in the dim light. I would suggest that directions be painted on the cement pavement with the buildings clearly labelled and lit on the outside wall; eg. (Building) A, B, C..
Rooms are large, well lit, provided with kettle for making tea & coffee with powder milk and sugar. Disposable slippers are provided.
There is one each of hairdryer, TV, safe, ceiling fan and AC installed in the room.
They is a phone in the guest room. However, no pen/pencil (I lost my only pen) or writing pad is provided as is customary in a lot of other hotels.
The rooms are quite and chambermaids usually do not showed up till around 11:00 am. I am fine with that.
Each room has its own patio provided with patio furniture consisting of a table and two chairs - I find those handy especially for drying wet clothes.
Hotel security is adequate. I had to sign a paper to say that the hotel would not be responsible for lost items.
All-in-all I would rate my stay here a C+ or 3.5/5.

The staff were amazing and cannot be faulted. It’s just a shame about the rubbish and the flies and birds as we visited the Maldives last year which was amazing and had high hopes for Mauritius but it wasn’t to be. We spent 12 nights here but after 4 we were looking for an early flight home. I must also say that myself and my wife had at least 4 “episodes” where we couldn’t stray too far from a toilet for a good few hours. So we resorted to eating out most days, not brilliant to pay for all inclusive and then have to spend another £1000 in restaurants. More

Our Anelia experience starts from the day we checked in on 16th Aug 23. The day was bad for us as Air Mauritius had preponed our flight to 15th without informing us. So, we had to rebook the tickets with Vistara and did not have a good sleep. We carried out some local work of buying sim card, exchanging currency and reached the hotel by 10-10.30 am. And the great experience started. We were welcome, assured that the rooms will be given on priority. The smiling lady, Roshni arranged a welcome drink. Suggested us to roam around for a while till the earlier guests check out. While this was getting delayed, she arranged a complimentary lunch too. Later we realized, Roshni has a very positive approach towards everything. You take a problem to her and she will try some way to solve the same. We always found her smiling. We were also helped by a girl with prominent bindi, forgot her name. We used to keep our laptop with her every day.
During the lunch, we got introduced to Mr Ajith who comforted us. Something we noticed about Ajith – He was always concerned about customers. He will always have a word with them. Even in hurry- he will suggest them to try some food item. In case of urgency, he will carry and help FnB people arrange the table by himself. He was hands-on man.
We were directed to room 145 as soon as we finished our lunch. Room was neat-clean. Something unusual we noticed. The toiletries were arranged in an artistic manner, placed them to create some design. This was done regularly. Even tea/coffee tray was arranged in perfect manner. We could meet room service people only once, they were courteous, smiling, quick and artistic. Thank you team
We are staying here till 22nd – almost 6 nights and seven days. Normally the menu keeps repeating after a certain number of days. This did not happen, at least till our check out. The menu was planned such way that every community be it Indian, African, European or anyone, they have some dish for them. For veg. They had an equally great menu. Sweet dishes never repeated except fruit salad. Non-veg was prepared in various ways – barbeque, grilled, curry, sauntered, shallow fry . Thanks to menu planner or chef - A very wide choice we had. The people will personally remember our choice, omlette specifications were never repeated after first order. She will remember and prepare without specific order. We preferred Indian Masala tea and very hot (Not warm) This was remembered and tea was always served hot. Thanks Menu planner and chef team.
Last and not the least, Senior members kept visiting and chatting with the customers during night too to get hands-on feedback. This was unbelievable, it showed management commitment to customers
These all-small experiences made our tour wonderful. We want to thank the team, their trainer and senior staff for the same.We wish all the team and management all the best for future.

The water temperature in the shower was a bit temperamental but not a massive issue. Some more options in the minibar would be good but they covered the basics, my minibar didn't work so do check. The TVs aren't consistent and depends what one you get determines if it's any good, but not a big concern for myself. The issues began on day 1, when checking in we were advised to put any allergies we had on the checking in form. One of our party is coeliac so cannot eat gluten. The restaurant staff didn't know what this meant, most of the chefs were baffled. One chef taking us around the food saying "you can eat that, oh wait no don't" and the assistant restaurant manager bringing out pancakes, and 5 minutes later being told they contained gluten, by pure chance and suspicion they were not eaten by that point. Eating became a nightmare. We ventured up to the burger bar one lunch time having been assured from the head chef that a gluten free option was available. It was, however it took over an hour and a half for 4 out of 5 burgers to... I wasn't sure whether to be angry at the blatant lie (gluten free burgers don't take any longer to cook and certainly not 90 minutes) or to laugh at the circus that was becoming mealtime. It was at this point the senior management stepped in and the head chef had to cook all of the gluten free meals, which was the saving grace of the restaurant. Aside from the gluten issues, there was an overwhelming amount of curry on offer every night that was so spicy I can only assume they have invented a genetically modified chilli to make them. Prepare to wait upwards of 10 minutes for basics to be replaced.
What was more baffling was everything on the room service menu, is not available to eat in the restaurant.
The breakfast service was pretty okay with a good variety on offer, but for some reason there seems to be a reluctance to offer tea and coffee. Not once was I offered coffee or tea, I had to ask for it every time. If it was that much of an issue please make it self service.
The water sport activities at the hotel look pretty good, until you have to have lived like a saint, have the whitest of teeth and be having a lucky day to use any of the pedalos, or kayaks. Some of our party did go on the glass bottom boat tour, I say some as we were told a maximum of 4 could go on it, later finding out the boat has capacity for 9. We did book to go snorkelling and dolphin watching, (at an extra cost) which I must admit was fantastic and as a bonus we did see a whale! Then we were dropped on some god forsaken deserted island for four hours and even though the hotel is on the beach, we couldn't be dropped off at the hotel beach. It had to be the flic en Flac beach a good 10 minute walk away. Was very confused and irritated by this.
One day we thought we'd venture out and go to the local nature park for some activities, we asked reception to book a taxi for us for 1:45 for 5 people. It was quickly agreed and was told it will be 1200 rupees. Seemed steep but fair enough. Until 1:45 came, and a taxi for 4 people turned up. To then be told we'd need a second taxi and it would be 1800 rupees. We asked reception to call another taxi for 5 people, i.e. a people carrier, and they said it's on it's way. They had called the same taxi company and the same two taxis turned up. By this point we were running late and had to just pay for receptions incompetence.
On the last day we had a late check out and concierge said they would come and collect the bags at 3:30 ready for our transfer. 3:30 came and went so we were left carrying the bags down the stairs. Only to be met about 100m from reception by the concierge telling us to put the bags down and he'd take them. I'm not really sure why, we'd done all the hard parts and just slowed us down at that point. I can't bemoan them too much, I did expect them to lose the bags in that 100m so I was surprised when they did reach reception.
There is a real distinct lack of professionalism and accountability at this hotel. Even down to a lack of consistency in uniform for most staff, some looked like they were on the beach, some looked like they were staff from other hotels, and some looked the part.
Amongst all this I must commend the general manager Manoj, and the head chef who did their utmost to make this trip wonderful. More
