... read more /> I’ll start with the hotel itself. It’s located at the very beginning (or end) of Flic en Flac Beach. After walking along most of the beach, which is truly stunning, we were actually glad our hotel was positioned where it was. Some of the other hotels further along were quite loud, and the beach becomes very busy with tourists & locals at the weekend. Here, however, you feel removed from the crowds—close enough to walk over and enjoy the atmosphere if you want, but far enough to truly relax.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, and you’ll see gardeners out every day maintaining them. The infinity pool is lovely, and we never had an issue getting a sunbed on the man-made beach or around the pool. To be honest, the hotel almost felt adults-only at times, as we hardly saw any children. That said, it is very much a quiet, relaxing-vibe hotel with not much to entertain kids. There is a games room, but both times we went in hoping to play pool, it was stiflingly hot with no air-conditioning, so we didn’t end up using it.
Accommodation
This was the one area that wasn’t great. We booked through Blue Bay Travel and were promised an upgraded ocean-view room. While the room did face the sea, it was extremely old and tired. After exploring the hotel, we realised that the more modern accommodation is actually the block surrounding the infinity pool. These rooms looked newly built with fresh paint and LED lighting—more like 5-star rooms—whereas ours felt more like 3-star at best. So we definitely felt like it was a down grade from our tour operator not an upgrade as promised. (See pics)
We were on the ground floor with a small patio, but after two nights of hearing the guests above dragging chairs around at night and having an issue with our shower drain, we asked reception if we could move. The receptionist was lovely, and within 10 minutes she called us to say a new room was available. It was still in the same block but on a higher floor, and this made the rest of our holiday much more enjoyable.
The minibar was included in our all-inclusive package and restocked daily with 4 cans of soft drink, 2 cans of beer, and 2 large bottles of water.
WiFi is not great at all and we were so glad that we had purchased a data only eSIM before we arrived as this was a life saver. Also hardly any reception in your room on the TVs. We had BBC news for a couple of days then it disappeared and we didn’t have any other English Channels. It was OK as we don’t go away to watch TV but if we didn’t have the great weather and ended up in our room more we might have felt differently.
Food
Most meals are served in the main buffet restaurant near reception, and I have to say this was some of the best food we’ve ever had at an all-inclusive resort. Everything was fresh, varied, and delicious. There were beautiful salads and soups to start, followed by a large Asian-inspired section with rice, noodles, curries, and meat and fish cooked fresh in front of you. There were also pizza and pasta options.
If you prefer very plain food or expect things like burgers and chips in the evening, you may be disappointed—those are only available at the burger bar at lunchtime.
Breakfast offered plenty of fresh fruit, cheese, croissants, cereals, hash browns, beans, and an omelette station.
Activities
On our third day, we booked a catamaran trip through a third-party company (though I’m sure you could arrange something similar through the hotel). It was absolutely one of the highlights of our holiday. A taxi took us to the other side of the island near the airport, where we boarded the boat. Within 10 minutes, a family of dolphins appeared and swam around us. We stopped for snorkelling, then sailed up an inlet to see waterfalls and monkeys on the rocks. After lunch on board, we visited the beautiful beach on Île aux Cerfs before returning in the late afternoon.
At the hotel, there’s a natural sea pool right in front of the property with steps for easy access. (See pic) The snorkelling here was incredible—we saw fish in every colour imaginable and went in most mornings before breakfast.
There were canoes available on the beach, which we were hoping to use, but each time we asked, the water sports staff told us the water was too choppy or the tide too low. In our entire 10-day stay, we didn’t see a single person using the canoes or pedalo boats. I’m not sure if this area is run by a separate company, but the staff there didn’t seem very engaged—quite the opposite of the rest of the hotel, where the staff were absolutely amazing. Everyone—from bar staff to waiters, entertainment, and reception—worked so hard and always greeted us warmly with a smile.
Overall
This hotel, and Mauritius in general, was exactly what we wanted: beautiful surroundings, peaceful days in the sunshine (29°C most days), and the chance to relax and recharge before heading home for Christmas.
I apologise if this review is a little long, but I wanted to give an honest and informative overview so you can get the best out of your holiday.

Curtains had holes in & were mouldy, build up of hair & dirt behind the bed, no bedding change in ten days of staying here. Towels only changed if you threw them on the floor. AC was non existent. Cleaners spedante more time on their phones instead of cleaning.
Pool area ok & staff in pool bar good, pool towel guy really pleasant, however sun loungers were never cleaned & were covered in grime. Food ok at times; too many flies!!

The hotels in which I usually stay are horrendous, and make me think that I am in a hospital! Also, the services provided are just pathetic despite the fact that they are 4 Star hotels. This is the first time when I stayed at your hotel during a business trip. To say I am impressed would be an understatement. I felt really comfortable during the stay, and your services are compliment worthy for sure. I am a man who thinks that all the good things should be appreciated so that is why I wrote this letter.

When I raised my voice, he started giving me a lesson on manners along me "You have manners?".
The audacity of the fellow was outrightly offensive and it ruined the evening for me and my wife.
Overall a horrible experience.

It had all varieties of cuisines from French to Indian with an English breakfast for the morning.

The rigidity of meal times is very off-putting. No accommodation for earlier breakfast to accommodate early boat tours.

We have our own business and We keep traveling for pleasure as well for work. Amongst all other stays Anelia is one of the tops. Our Anelia experience starts from the day we checked in on 16th Aug 23. The day was bad for us as Air Mauritius had preponed our flight to 15th without informing us. So, we had to rebook the tickets with Vistara and did not have a good sleep. We carried out some local work of buying sim card, exchanging currency and reached the hotel by 10-10.30 am. And the great experience started. We were welcome, assured that the rooms will be given on priority. The smiling lady, Roshni arranged a welcome drink. Suggested us to roam around for a while till the earlier guests check out. While this was getting delayed, she arranged a complimentary lunch too. Later we realized, Roshni has a very positive approach towards everything. You take a problem to her and she will try some way to solve the same. We always found her smiling. We were also helped by a girl with prominent bindi, forgot her name. We used to keep our laptop with her every day.
During the lunch, we got introduced to Mr Ajith who comforted us. Something we noticed about Ajith – He was always concerned about customers. He will always have a word with them. Even in hurry- he will suggest them to try some food item. In case of urgency, he will carry and help FnB people arrange the table by himself. He was hands-on man.
We were directed to room 145 as soon as we finished our lunch. Room was neat-clean. Something unusual we noticed. The toiletries were arranged in an artistic manner, placed them to create some design. This was done regularly. Even tea/coffee tray was arranged in perfect manner. We could meet room service people only once, they were courteous, smiling, quick and artistic. Thank you team
We are staying here till 22nd – almost 6 nights and seven days. Normally the menu keeps repeating after a certain number of days. This did not happen, at least till our check out. The menu was planned such way that every community be it Indian, African, European or anyone, they have some dish for them. For veg. They had an equally great menu. Sweet dishes never repeated except fruit salad. Non-veg was prepared in various ways – barbeque, grilled, curry, sauntered, shallow fry . Thanks to menu planner or chef - A very wide choice we had. The people will personally remember our choice, omlette specifications were never repeated after first order. She will remember and prepare without specific order. We preferred Indian Masala tea and very hot (Not warm) This was remembered and tea was always served hot. Thanks Menu planner and chef team.
Last and not the least, Senior members kept visiting and chatting with the customers during night too to get hands-on feedback. This was unbelievable, it showed management commitment to customers
These all-small experiences made our tour wonderful. We want to thank the team, their trainer and senior staff for the same.We wish all the team and management all the best for future.

Beautiful hotel on the beach. The room was upgraded to ocean view which was compact but had everything.
The food in the hotel was fresh looking and a good variety... read more for most diets. Previous reports stated it was a bit bland so I mentioned this and the next night and others we had a great mixture of spices plus every night they had grills.
The staff bent over backwards to help. There was a small issue but the bar manager immediately rectified this.
Room was cleaned every day
Best trip of snorkelling was from the diving section in the hotel much better than more expensive trips

The menu, although catering mainly to an Indian clientelle was good and usually had non-curry items. There is also a burger bar style eatery on site that is open from 12 to 3 that has a good and tasty alternative.
Overall a wonderful resort for a quite get-away.
