  I liked a hotel, but few thinks was really not ok and I hope the hotel will do something to change things. The waiters was ok with the clients, but... read more few of them bullying the others waiters very very badly! It was not nice to see and sometimes I just wanted to say them to stop. Also two times was no glass in the table so I ask. The waiters went to the table were where the used glasses/plates and just pick for me a glass from there It was lipstick on the glass. Also sometimes we got used napkins and how knows what else. The other problem is the boathous. We stayed 14 day but not even once we was able the use the kajak or a pedal boat. The boats were in the beach, but they always gave us some stupid reason why we can use it. Once we went morning, they told us come back afternoon about 4 PM now it’s low tide. We went back, the some person just told us, sorry we close at 4 PM.. Also one day the cleaning staff left our door open, so when we come back we almost got a heart attack. Luckely nothing was stolen and I’m sure it was not a general problem, happened only once.

  Food awful, seemed to be 80% of the guests were Indian so the food was always Rice with curried meat. No chips. Had to beg chef each night for plain... read more pizza and thank god otherwise we would have starved.
I lost 8kg in one week.
Mainly from the fruit based mocktails and awful food.
The sports equipment which you had to sign for was snooker cues without tips and broken table tennis balls so when you walk round the corner it’s no surprise to find the tables broken as well.
Entertainment is non existent unless you class the overweight staff jingling and pretending to belly dance. Worst I’ve ever witnessed. Nothing to do after pleasant beach sunset walk as the tv in rooms have one English Channel a the beds are rock hard.
You can also hear everything from next door due to the shared door.
Spa isn’t a Spa, jacuzzi not heated and loads of broken tiles which also fills with rain water.
Staff are pleasant but low intelligence.
Unfortunately the transport driver stole our mobile phone so not the best first few days as had to track it and go and collect it myself. Not hotels fault but the travel company who provided the transport.
Stunning sunsets and man made scenery though.
Gardens are very well kept.
Maintenance not kept up as loungers green and pool furniture never been cleaned. Now seeing as you have a member of staff sat guarding the rags of towel surely that member of staff would be better put to use and pool drinks service didn’t exist most days.
Expected paradise like the zilwa attitude we previously stayed at. Instead this was awful food very limited and desperation to get home.

  The good points of this hotel are the location, on the edge of Flic en Flac beach and near a bus stop if you want to go to Port Louis... read more by bus, the views are lovely with gorgeous sunsets, nice looking hotel in lovely gardens and very chilled and peaceful with plenty of sunbeds available (in December). The rest however isn't great, our room was spacious with a fridge, TV, air con and ceiling fan, safe and small balcony however the bathroom needed an upgrade. The housekeeping was not acceptable our bedding wasn't changed for the 10 days we were there and the bathroom wasn't cleaned (just the sink once). Staff were so so some of them would speak but you had to make the effort to speak to them first, the manager however was very friendly and went out of his way to speak to guests. Food wasn't too good, breakfast was the best meal as you could order fresh omelettes, there was plenty of fresh fruit too. Lunch was the worst but you could use the burger bar if on AI. There was a hygiene issue with flies and birds around the food some food was covered but not all. It was sometimes difficult to get a drink/cutlery as the staff weren't always attentive. Anelia resort was booked with lot of hopes . They assured availability of good indian chef and quality food, which we never could taste during our 5 days stay. The only silverlining was good tour guides , though they too didn't take us to some better locations. It's always advisable to first scan hotel properties and travel agencies through sites like tripadvisor and then proceed with better n reasonable options. Mauritius is of course a great beautiful country with scenic views and many options for fun loving tourists having very hospitable people. More

It’s just a shame about the rubbish and the flies and birds as we visited the Maldives last year which was amazing and had high hopes for Mauritius but it wasn’t to be. We spent 12 nights here but after 4 we were looking for an early flight home. I must also say that myself and my wife had at least 4 “episodes” where we couldn’t stray too far from a toilet for a good few hours. So we resorted to eating out most days, not brilliant to pay for all inclusive and then have to spend another £1000 in restaurants. More
